Up early was Kelly wanted to lower the balcony window and breathe the salt air & listen to the waves... the window made the most noise actually!
I showered and "we" unpacked my bag and organized the draws accordingly. All very neat & tidy... and lots of room for Kelly's stuff.
We headed off to the Captains Club Continental Breakfast and enjoyed a selection of cereals, fruit cups and my favorite, smoked salmon (It was the mother load!) Kelly started off with a mimosa but it took a long time for that to arrive. The drinks are made in a separate section apparently so it creates a delay... she did get it once she had finished breakfast.
We stopped by the concierge area and tried to change our dinner reservation for tonight at the Fine Cuts Steak House but the times available were very late. Oh well first world problems. 6 PM it is.
Some interesting artwork around the ship... I will try and get pics throughout the trip and post them... here is one.
Also the ship has a feature wall that shows the back sip of the ships hull... I believe it's the inside of a double hull design but still very interesting.
Kelly had a shower while I checked the blog for errors/omissions from yesterday... it was busy. Then we were off to the Captains club meet up which was held in Eden with free drinks for us! Nice short introduction from the captain to welcome us onboard and for our patronage.
The highlight was an acrobatic performance by one of the ships performers. She did some crazy maneuvers on a balance apparatus that blew the crowd and us away.
We checked the celebrity app that shows all the daily events on the planner page, and found a show titled “Every Rolex has a story” so off we went and listened to several people tell their story on how they obtained their Submariner. How it got it's name etc.. Some interesting stories but in the end I just can’t justify the cost. It felt very nice but the face is a bit small for my liking.
Off to lunch in the Cosmopolitan restaurant for a nice main of Roast Duck Breast. It was very good. Back in the room to let Kelly finish unpacking and I had a snooze. I eventually awoke as Kelly was busy knitted Ava’s hat while she enjoyed the ambiance of the infinity balcony.
Next up was the Face Book group gathering in the Upper Eden room. Great to meet up with all these folks and gather insight of past and upcoming events. A lot of knowledge here! All a similar age group as well.
Back to the room to prepare for our dinner tonight. It’s chic nite (not formal but dressy up) so we put on some nice clothes and headed to the Martini Bar for cocktail hour.
Met up with some fellow cruise whom we met last night and enjoyed their company. Dinner at the Steak House at 6 sharp and we enjoyed a huge tomahawk steak and lamb chops with sides and an huge desert. All very good.
We wandered through the casino and each of us played some roulette. We only played for twenty minutes but came out ahead… got to pay for this cruise somehow:-) JK
We wandered the ship a bit then went to the theater for the Hayden Smith show. He does Elton John music very well so it is a bit of a memory lane trip for us.
Next up was the late night comedy with Darren Sanders but we were fading fast... back in the room I finished up the daily blog as Kelly checked the back of her eyelids.
Time to hit the rack as we have a big day in Brisbane tomorrow. We have a special meet up planned.
