So some people wonder why I put the day (Friday) in the title... it's simple.... on a ship you quickly loose track of the days so it's my way of staying organized :-)
Another lazy day as our routine continues... Kelly is off to get coffee for us as I fill out our New Zealand Travel Declaration. This is in addition to the Travel Visa we have already purchased and will be electronically attached to our passports in a similar manner.
Celebrity provides detailed instructions on the process as well as several options to apply. We chose the online application and it was very straight forward and intuitive, leading right into another traveler i.e. Kelly. We both received confirmation immediately via e-mail.
Talked with our son Kris this morning as he is on the hunt for a new "family oriented" vehicle as his Model 3 Tesla is not the most ideal family vehicle going forward. He is looking at the Kia EV9.
My assistant editor back in Canada (Lauren) was in touch so I completed some required editing on several previous posts.
We also did some trip planning for some upcoming stops... at The Bay of Islands, we plan to take the ferry across to Russell, a small town located across the Bay. Some vlogers that Kelly follows had done this trip and it looked interesting. In Auckland we have signed up for a two hour walking tour of the city.
Out the door and off for a walkabout on the decks. We hoofed around and ran into Avis whom Kelly had some medicinal supplies for. She was getting over a cold.
We went up to the Qceanview Cafe for some lunch and then returned to the Casino for our 13:00 Blackjack Tournament. Kelly and I played in different rounds so we were not in front of the dealer at the same time... if they were strong then both of us would be out. So Kelly managed to have a good game but ended up not making the final table. I, on the other hand, had a strong game and made the final table. Sadly the cards just never came to me and I was knocked out. It was a lot of fun though and we managed to convince the ships Casino staff to hold another tournament on the last sea day of the cruise. A small win!
Text and pictures of Kris & Anna's new KIA EV9 came into my phone. The "Family Car" is officially in their driveway. Congrats!
We wandered around a bit more and eventually returned to the stateroom to prep for dinner. Off we went and after passing by the Martini Bar and into Eden, we decided to come back to the Martini Bar and found a seat right at the front. The Bartenders where up to their tricks, flipping bottles and balancing drinks on their arms, all with a roar from those present. It's fun to watch.
We then went to the special Elite Members Gathering in the club where a wonderful singer performed solo with her guitar. She was very good.
As we were near the theater, we decided to change it up a bit and take in the 7 P.M. show. It was an Australian singer named Monique Montez and I have to say, one of the best musical performances we have witness on any ship. It was fantastic as she belted out songs from Adele, Elvis and the Beatles. Finishing up with some Queen to top it off. Wow!
As we started to get hungry, we popped up to the buffet and had dinner. There were very few people eating at 8:30 P.M. as everyone was either at shows or at dinner in the dinning lounges & specialty restaurants. The time change made a difference I think but it was very quiet. We stopped in at the casino again and I watched Kelly have a good winning session. Nice to see for once! We then took in the 80's Flashback Dance Party going on in The Club but Kelly is not a huge dance fan so after a while we headed off to bed.
Finished up the Blog for today and it was lights out for us.
