Sunday in Sydney

Well It’s 5 am and I am wide awake as we adjust to the time zone. I noticed that the Tucson Aerobatic Shoot Out was going live on YouTube so started watching that. For those unfamiliar, this is a remote control model competition going on in Arizona this past week. I had a FaceTime tour featuring some of the planes from fellow flier Chad Northeast who is in attendance. Unfortunately the live stream was interrupted by YouTube’s copyright policy (music?)  What I did see was great.

Action from Arizona

Kelly made some hotel coffee that she found in the room so life is pretty good…. RC Planes & morning coffee.

Showers are complete then it was time to check out the area again. We headed back around the boardwalk and walked under the Sydney Harbour Bridge then to the Circular Quay, walking past the Disney Cruise ship that was leaving later today. Lots of little kids around too... mmmm.

We had obtained some tickets for the Sydney Opera House tour, which we had done in 2018, but decided to do it again as it is all very interesting and the views spectacular. Well after hoofing it around the shoreline, we decided to skip the tour and just enjoy the views.

We wandered back to The Rocks area and stopped in at several shops along the way… well Kelly did:-) We went to the Glenmore Pub and had a refreshment before looking for a lunch spot.

After a discussion on areas that we can cover on our various returns to Sydney on the cruise, we elected to head back to the Darling Harbour side for lunch. On the way we grabbed a geocache up at the observation point. Great view from here as well as close proximity to the observatory. Sadly it was closed today.

Did I mention stairs? At least we are going down towards the water!

A mix of old & new.
We soon found ourselves back on the Darling side and settled in at the Meat District Co for lunch. This gave us a nice walk break and was very tasty.  Next it was off to Coles for some additional snacks and laundry soap and then a return to the hotel. Unfortunately the room was just being cleaned so we dumped our goodies and went down to the hotel bar and enjoyed a refreshment while we waited.

30 minutes later we were back to the room for a nice little break and some relax time to rest the legs.  An hour later we headed off again and walked over towards Pirrama Park to grab another geocache. Some interesting rock colors along the way as well as some neat ships moored along the piers. Great views from the the other side as well.

The James Craig

Neat blue stone wall.

We did find the cache after a bit of searching and then made our way towards the IMAX & W buildings. Lots of people out walking the boardwalk.

Ok the legs are telling us to stop so back to the room for another break… my pedometer is reading 25,450 steps and my body is reading “Empty”!

We relaxed in the room for a while  and then headed downstairs to the hotel’s dinning room for our dinner. It was all very good albeit not inexpensive here in Australia!

I did some blogging and watched some RC flying action that I had missed earlier. Today's final step count was 25,765... going to pay for this at some point!  Off to the rack.

Friday - Homeward Bound

It's a weird one as we arrive home before we leave Sydney... with the time change that is:-)  Up early as I hit the shower and then did...
