Friday - At Sea

Kelly was up and out of bed to get coffee as I had tried to sleep in. I did not sleep well last night as I have picked up a cold and have a stuffed up head and runny nose... arghhh! Kelly struggled through the night with lots of coughing....The last thing you want on a cruise! We will grind it out though:-)

Another sea day so we looked at the daily planner and picked out a few stops of interest. Cruise Director talk, Football at the pool, games... what to do?

We took a look at some watches as mine was giving me some grief as I had to turn on/off daylight savings to get the watch to tell the correct time (DST-off) in Sydney. All fixed now. I guess that Rolex will have to stay in the box at the watch store a little longer :-)

Shauna the Cruise Director put on a great talk about crew life on the ship. From the crew quarters, meals and parties etc. She also reviewed how Celebrity handled the pandemic and the fact they sent their ships to different countries in order to get staff home. Amazing really. She explained what happens when people miss the ship or if there are physical fights onboard (to the brig... as they have one).  She also talked about rescues at sea after an SOS and the actions of the crew aboard. All very interesting. BTW Shauna is from New Brunswick and is one of only six Canadian crew onboard the ship.

We met another couple from England in the theater and stayed behind chatting with them. They too are doing the next two back to back cruises and are located near our next cruise's cabin location.

We headed up to the buffet and as it was lunchtime, it was busy. We both did up a stirfry as there was no lineup at that station. Very tasty. They still had lots of Halloween decorations from last night... some great workmanship!

Great display!

Back at our stateroom, we started to prepare our baggage for the next cruise. We just have to pack everything that's not on hangers and then leave the luggage in the room in the morning. It will all be transferred to our new room by guest services staff. Very nice.

We just needed to plan clothing for Sydney as we will be going off ship and returning later in the day. Only 20°C is forecast so pants might be in order?

We went for a walk and played in the casino for 20 minutes... I'm down $10 sheesh.. ... how am I going to afford a Rolex with that negative trend! Answer: not happening.

Back in the room, Kelly showered as I got today's blog started and also packed a few more items. My dresser draws are all emptied and the computer stuff will get loaded in the morning.

Meet up with our usual gang in the Eden Lounge again for cocktails just before 5 P.M.

The Elite Crew!

Kelly and I said goodbyes and headed for our 6 p.m. dinner reservation at Fine Cut Steakhouse. Kelly had a Tomato & Mozzarella starter and Lobster main and I went with the Lobster Cocktail and the Lamb Chops. It was very good but we could not even contemplate desert as we were both full at this point. A quick cruise through the casino but neither of us had any luck again. See a trend here!

Off to the theater where we met up with our Elite crew again. The Colors of Life Show at 9:00 featured the performers dancing through a new production and it was good. Interesting use of the five million dollar display screen that curves around the theater as well as high rigging and special effects.

We turned in and I finished up publishing the daily blog.

A Sydney "turn" tomorrow.

Friday - Homeward Bound

It's a weird one as we arrive home before we leave Sydney... with the time change that is:-)  Up early as I hit the shower and then did...
